Secrets from the Flower Farm

Dear Diary,

I have been remiss and neglected your sorely. This is my first entry in way too long but there is exciting news to report. A new book. Written with my friend and talented flower farmer and florist, Rebecca Starling, Secrets from the Flower Farm will hit the shelves in Australia at the end of October and the United Kingdom and United States early next year.

So as Rebecca and I plan publicity tours and speaking engagements I am busy trying to sort my very untidy garden at The Oaks. Spring has arrived early and as I write I’m gazing out my study window at a crab apple festooned with papery pink blossom and pots of tulips in pink and sunshine yellow. And weeds of course. Lots of weeds. I’m off now to do a spot of weeding.

More soon.

For anyone who has dreamed of growing their own cut flowers to fill their home with colour year-round, this book will prove an invaluable guide. With gorgeous photos by Adelaide photographer Christopher Morrison, the book provides practical information on all sorts of things: growing from seed, soil blocking, harvesting, selecting flowers to suit hot and dry conditions, flower arranging, even flower fashion.
